|HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SCHEDULE THE TRANPORT OF MY VEHICLE?
We request that you schedule your car shipping as soon as possible to insure that your car is moved within the time frame which best meets your schedule. However, if an immediate pick up is necessary, we can arrange for your vehicle to be picked up within 24 hours.
WHAT IS AN OVERSIZE FEE?
Some vehicles are much larger than traditional passenger vehicles. Most full size SUVs fit in to this category. Because of the extraordinary dimensions, these vehicles take up the amount of space normally used for two vehicles, thus resulting in the need for an "oversize" fee.
IS MY QUOTE FOR DOOR TO DOOR AUTO TRANSPORT?
Yes, our quote is for the door to door service, which means that the driver of the auto transporter will get as close to your door as possible, Many cities have restrictions on large trucks that will not let them in some residential areas. Most trucks are very large and need room to turn around so if your road is narrow or if there are low hanging trees or wires the driver may ask you to meet the truck in a local shopping plaza with enough room for the driver to turn around.
WHERE WILL MY CAR BE PICKED UP AND DELIVERED?
When you transport your car with Exclusive Auto Logistics Company, you receive door to door shipping.
IS MY VEHICLE INSURED?
YES your vehicle will be insured against any transport damage caused by driver negligence. Our drivers, carry a minimum of $750,000 in liability insurance. Each driver is also required to carry a minimum of $100,000 or move in cargo insurance (depending on the size of truck the vehicle is being transported on) Enclosed carriers require move cargo insurance.
HOW DO I PREPARE MY VEHICLE?
Please have a no more that 1/2 tank of fuel, remove all personal items from your vehicle, repair any chips and/or cracks in your windows and make sure your vehicle is prepared for changing weather conditions. For additional tips, see our Vehicle Checklist.
CAN MY AUTO SHIPPER PICK UP THE SAME DAY?
Yes, we can arrange to have your vehicle picked up the same day in most areas (if notified by 11:00AM) and a next day pick up may be schedule with 24 hours notice. There is an additional fee and is arranged by use of a local flat-bed (not towed). The vehicle is then transported back to a local terminal where it is held until the main auto shipper arrives to load the vehicle.
CAN I PACK THINGS IN MY VEHICLE?
Generally, we recommend that you do not ship any personal belongings inside your vehicle. However, a few small items packed in the trunk are acceptable.
WHAT DOES DOOR-TO-DOOR DELIVERY MEAN?
It means that the car carrier will get as close as physically possible to your front door as long as it does not compromise the cargo and/or your vehicle(s). If you live on a main road (at least 2 lanes wide) with no overhanging trees or low bridges and the streets leading to your house can accommodate trucks of that size and length, then the carrier will pick up your vehicle(s) from your door and deliver it to your door if the same conditions apply at your destination. As the driver approaches your pick-up/delivery location, he will call you to confirm your address and discuss accessibility. If accessibility is limited the drive may suggest meeting at a local supermarket or mall with ample space to load/unload your vehicle(s).
HOW LONG SHOULD THE TRANSPORT TAKE?
Shipping time all depends on the transporter - listed below are some very basic ideas to help you along the way. Make sure however you contact your shipper for their actual scheduled times. East Coast to West Coast - approx. 7 to 14 days Midwest to East Coast - approx. 5 to 8 days South to the North - approx. 5 to 8 days All shipping times are estimated do not base your transport on these examples without first contacting your shipper for assistance.
DO I HAVE TO BE PRESENT WHEN YOU PICKUP OR DELIVER MY VEHICLE?
Yes, you or your designated individual must be present at both the pickup and delivery points for when the trucking company arrives.
CAN I LEAVE MY VEHICLE SOMEPLACE ON THE PICK UP OR DELIVERY END?
Exclusive Auto Logistics Company will try to find a local terminal to store your vehicle in until the car shipping service can pick up your vehicle or, until you are available to pick up your vehicle on the delivery end. There will be an additional fee that applies to your quote if we need to store your vehicle for you.
CAN I PUT LUGGAGE OR ANY PERSONAL ITEMS INTO MY VEHICLE?
Yes, you are allowed to put up to 100 lbs. of personal belongings in your vehicle. It must be confined to the trunk area and must be well secured. All personal items in the vehicle are placed there at the owners risk; they are not covered by the truck's insurance. We do not recommend packing electronics, breakable items or valuable items. An additional fee will be charged if you put more then 100 lbs. into your vehicle.
WILL MY VEHICLE BE DRIVEN?
Your vehicle will only be driven to load and unload your vehicle. Usually no more then 5 miles will be put onto your vehicle during transport. Please be sure to note the mileage on the Pick-Up and Delivery Inspection Form (also known as the Bill of Lading). Discrepancies should be noted on the delivery receipt and signed off by the driver.
WHAT ARE MY PAYMENT OPTIONS?
Cashier's check, postal money orders, personal checks or company checks will be accepted for your deposit only. For the remaining balance due, all payments must be made via cash, cashier's check, postal money order, or official bank check ONLY. No credit cards are accepted for final payment.
HOW DO I CHECK ON THE STATUS OF MY ORDER?
You can e-mail our office or call us between the hours of 8:00 am and 7:00 pm est. and someone will be available to track your vehicle for you.
WHAT IF MY VEHICLE GETS DAMAGED?
It's very unlikely that your vehicle will be damaged - but should damage occur, please be sure to note it on the Bill of Lading and have the driver sign it. Claims cannot be processed by the driver's insurance company if damage is not noted at time of delivery.
IS MY DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE?
Your initial deposit will be returned to you in the event that you cancel 10 days or more prior to your scheduled pickup. If you cancel less than 10 days prior to pickup, your deposit will be refunded minus a $50.00 service charge.
